Fortnite Gone More About The Differences Between Fortnite And Dota
Fortnite Gone: More About The Differences Between Fortnite And DotaIt's been almost a year since we first heard about Fortnite, the multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game developed by Epic Games. In that time, it has amassed a devoted following, has been featured on the Spike TV game show, and is regarded as one of the most promising titles in the genre. We've spent some time with the game to see what all the fuss is about. Here's what we learned. The similarities between Fortnite and Dota are striking. While both games feature destructible environments and a variety of different characters, they also have classes, abilities, and resources to control. However, while this may sound like a very small point, the fact is that as players level up, they gain access to greater abilities and strategies, allowing them to take on the enemy more effectively.Of course, it's been said that one of the main differences between the two games is that you need to be an active and responsible solo player to really succeed at either one. But this isn't entirely true, according to Andrew Carter, lead designer for Epic Games. 'I'd say the only true difference is that with Fortnite, you don't have to be a dedicated, hands-on player,' he says.'It has a great strategy and teamwork aspect but the goal is to kill the enemy before they kill you. With Dota, if you're really good at the strategy aspect, you can actually control all the actions of the team and just go in with brute force. That's a lot of fun but for the most part the difference is that Fortnite has a co-op element.'So, how exactly does Fortnite different from Dota? Like with many other MOBA games, the objective is to capture or destroy the opposing base. To achieve this, you'll need to control specific points on the map and then work together to defeat the enemy team. But the difference here is that you have teams to contend with, with the goal being to make sure that the enemy gets all the resources they need to win.'Th e strategy in Fortnite is to actually come up with a plan, go out and kill people, and do the things that the team work ethic requires you to do,' Carter says. 'But at the same time, you want to make sure that the enemy knows that you know what you're doing. Because the enemy will start putting up defensive tactics and you don't want them to get to where they want to be.'After playing several rounds of Fortnite and looking at the results, it's clear that there's plenty of skill involved. In comparison, however, it's harder to tell just how much teamwork is needed to keep your base healthy and in place. This is where the strategic element comes into play. If the team doesn't cooperate well enough, the enemy could very well take the victory, leaving the player feeling dejected and frustrated.Going up against the enemy might be the best thing that happens to you at any point in the game. Whether the win is secured by the enemy team's base being completely destroyed or if the players ge t there first, it's all part of the fun. What's most interesting about Fortnite, though, is that it's the first title of its kind, introducing a new genre that is so clearly defined yet so much fun to play.
